Analytics
The Widget Builder automatically tracks usage data for your widgets. This page explains what data is collected and where to find it.
Dashboard Statistics
The Dashboard shows a statistics overview covering the last 30 days:
| Metric | Description |
|---|---|
| Active Widgets | Number of widgets currently activated and available in Staffbase |
| Impressions | Total number of times your widgets were rendered (viewed) by users |
| Users | Number of unique users who viewed your widgets |
| Pages | Number of distinct Staffbase pages where your widgets are displayed |
| Countries | Number of countries from which your widgets were accessed |
These numbers update automatically — no configuration is needed.
How Data Is Collected
Every time a widget renders in Staffbase, the Widget Builder records an analytics event. This happens automatically in the background and does not affect widget performance.
Each event captures:
- Which widget was rendered
- The Staffbase page where it appeared
- The user who viewed it (anonymized for counting)
- The country of the viewer
- A timestamp
Analytics data is collected only when widgets render inside Staffbase. Preview renders in the Widget Builder editor are not counted.
Viewing Analytics
From the Dashboard
After signing in, the Dashboard home screen shows your statistics overview directly below the widget cards. The numbers cover a rolling 30-day window.
From the Settings Page
The Settings page also displays summary information about your account, including the number of active widgets and license usage.
Data Retention
Analytics data is aggregated and stored as follows:
- Hourly metrics — Retained for 90 days
- Daily metrics — Retained for 365 days
Individual analytics events are processed and aggregated automatically. You do not need to configure retention settings.
